Glavbolgarstroy and the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC) discussed the establishment of the Bulgarian Competitiveness Council at a meeting in Washington
In mid-June, representatives of the management of the Bulgarian construction holding held a working meeting with the President of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC), Deborah Wins-Smith in Washington.
The Chairman of the Management Board of "Glavbolgarstroy Holding" (GBS), Kalin Peshov and Deborah Wins-Smith discussed a wide range of topics in the course of their joint talks, which were held at the headquarters of the international association.
GFCC focuses on the top issues related to accelerating global productivity, growth and prosperity of countries, regions, and cities. The federation is committed to achieving its goals by creating networks of interested parties and organizing regular events and high-level expert discussions to present the best global practices in the field of innovation, the implementation of sustainable projects, building strategic partnerships, etc. During the talks, the heads of Glavbolgarstroy and the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils outlined the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as the potential for deepening the daily connections between the two structures. In the course of the discussions, the possibility of establishing a Bulgarian Competitiveness Council was also discussed, which - with the support of the global federation - would work to improve the business environment in Bulgaria, creating prerequisites for strengthening growth of productivity, innovation and technological progress of the Bulgarian industry, thus enhancing its competitive advantages. In addition, the possibility of organizing a recent visit of the GFCC President to Bulgaria was further debated, during which visit Deborah Wins-Smith could become more acquainted with the economic progress and competitiveness of the industry in Bulgaria, as well as with the problems and challenges that the companies from various sectors of the country's economy face.
At the Annual Meeting of the federation in Athens (Greece) in 2022, the Bulgarian company "Glavbolgarstroy" was accepted as a full member of the organization from the region of South-Eastern Europe. This is the first member of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils from Bulgaria and one of the few members from the region of South-Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
