“Glavbolgarstroy” celebrates 50 years in construction

One of the largest construction companies in the Balkans – “Glavbolgarstroy” celebrated half a century of experience. The anniversary of the construction holding was entirely dedicated to its employees, the professional continuity and the shared values.

The guests of the event went through the most exciting and crucial moments for the development of the Company from 1969 to the present through audio-visual materials, presenting the implementation of iconic projects in the territory of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Africa, Central and North Asia and the Middle East. For the first time, a short film about the past five decades of work and transformation of the business model was also broadcast.

Engineer Simeon Peshov, President of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, was rewarded on behalf of the Company’s employees for his dedication to profession and the development of the Holding over the years.

Special guest at the event was one of the first employees of the Glavbolgarstroy Mrs. Ludmila Vorobyovа, who received а “Priceless employee” prize as the longest-serving employee of the Company.

Established on September 16, 1969 under an intergovernmental agreement, today Glavbolgarstroy stands behind the implementation of a number of landmark buildings, nationally-owned infrastructure, numerous wastewater treatment plants, water supply and sewerage projects, large-scale industrial projects, and many energy infrastructure projects. Part of the Company’s portfolio are sites such as the largest multifunctional hall in Bulgaria – Arena Armeec, Lot 1, 2 and 3.3 of Struma Highway, the transit gas pipeline to Turkey, the latest Biovet production facilities in Peshtera and Razgrad, the US and German Embassies in Sofia and many more.
