Glavbolgarstroy honored with plaque for contribution to Rilski Sportist wrestling club
Glavbolgarstroy was awarded a plaque for its contribution to the development and success of the classical wrestling at the Rilski Sportist sports club. In recognition of their long-term support across various initiatives, Nikolay Kashinov, Chairman of Rilski Sportist, presented the award to Albena Angelova, Executive Director of Glavbolgarstroy Holding.
The ceremony took place at the Samokov Arena during the inaugural international boys' classical wrestling tournament "Vasil Saimenov," in memory of the legendary coach and founder of the Samokov wresling club, Vasil Saimenov. Teams from Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Hungary, Moldova, and North Macedonia participated in this prestigious event.
"These children are our future. We fully support the idea of hosting a tournament in honor of Vasil Saimenov—a man who contributed significantly to our wrestling club. I extend my best wishes to the young athletes and their coaches for continued success," Albena Angelova said upon receiving the plaque.
The boys from Rilski Sportist sports club won three gold medals. The contributions of Tsvetan-Ioannis Nikolov, Yako Stefanov, Alexander Vasilev, and the entire team were pivotal to this achievement.
Special guests at the event included two-time Olympic champion in wrestling Armen Nazaryan, Valentin Raichev, Vice-President of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation and Olympic champion, and double Olympic champion Georgi Murkov, alongside numerous other athletes and public figures.
Official guests included Mayor Eng. Angel Dzhorgov, Deputy Mayors Stanimira Davidova and Lyuba Klenova, Vice President of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation Valentin Raichev, Olympic champions Armen Nazaryan and Georgi Murkov, Kiril Milov, Ivo Angelov—world and European champions—as well as municipal councilors, coaches, and individuals who have glorified our country through their indelible contributions to the history of classical wrestling.
