Glavbolgarstroy joined the “Connecting Ecosystems in the Energy Sector” initiative in Belgium

Representatives of Glavbolgarstroy joined a delegation at the "Connecting Ecosystems in the Energy Sector" initiative organized by Flanders Investment & Trade. The visit took place from 19 to 21 November 2024 in the Flanders region of Belgium and included a series of significant events and meetings focusing on the energy transition.

As part of a delegation from Central and Eastern Europe, representatives from Glavbolgarstroy had the opportunity to visit the Green Energy Park and the Flanders Institute for Decarbonisation Technologies in Zelik, where they learned about the innovations and system solutions for carbon neutral technologies that play a key role in the energy transition in the region. During the visits, the focus was on promoting active participation in the development of collaborative local energy systems and B2B energy networks, forming part of a wider European initiative to develop integrated and sustainable energy strategies.

As part of the initiative, representatives of Glavbolgarstroy also actively participated in the Energy Mission 2024 - Benelux Edition Forum, which focused on cross-border infrastructures and value chains for sustainable industry. The forum took place at the Bluepoint conference centre in Brussels.

The event brought together over 200 leaders, including government representatives and industry experts, and provided a platform to explore the challenges and opportunities for creating cross-border carbon and energy value chains. A particular focus was on hydrogen networks and carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure.

For the Glavbolgarstroy team, the conference provided an opportunity to further learn about the policies and new technologies shaping the future of the energy sector, as well as to strengthen their commitment to integrate these types of innovative technology solutions into their sustainable building practices in Bulgaria and the SEE region.

Although the Energy Mission 2024 Forum was focused on the Benelux region, the discussions held and ideas exchanged on innovation in the industry provided valuable guidance that can inspire and adapt similar strategies for CEE and SEE, tailoring them to the specific needs of this part of Europe.
