The works of Struma Highway, Lot 1, were given the official start at a special ceremony.

The stretch has a length of 16.780 km, starting from the end of completed stretch Daskalovo – Dolna Dikanya at km 305+220 and ending at km 322+000.
Contractor of works on this stretch is a consortium between GBS-Infrastructure Construction, Patstroy-92 and the Italian Impresa, which submitted the lowest price bid of BGN 58.534 million, excluding VAT. According to the signed contract the highway stretch must be completed within 25 months.
