Glavbolgarstroy took 4 gold awards at the M2 Annual Construction Awards held on 10.12 at John Atanasoff Hall in Sofia.

The companies "GBS-Plovdiv" and "Glavbolgarstroy AD, part of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, were awarded first place in the construction sector in several categories - "Specialized and public buildings"; "Industrial and warehouse buildings"; "Office buildings".

The award for "Industrial and Warehouse Buildings" was accepted by Dimitar Karamitrev, Chairman of the Management Board of GBS - Plovdiv with 3 buildings constructed with a total area of 63 871 sq. m., including the Pierer - Maxcom bicycle plant in Plovdiv, the IAG armoured military equipment plant in Burgas and the Orno logistics base near Plovdiv. "We are a community that does not stop building happiness per square meter and we must continue to do so," Karamitrev told the industry.

In the Industrial and Warehouse Buildings category, the award went to Eng. Viktor Zorov, Director of Construction Mechanization and Concrete Production and member of the Management Board of Glavbolgarstroy AD and GBS - Global Construction AD. The distinction was awarded for the construction of the new campus of St. Ekaterina in Plovdiv and the new nursery on St. Vulko Radinski in Sofia.

We do not stop investing in new technologies and sustainable practices in construction to improve the quality of life of people," said Eng. Zorov.

In the "Office Buildings" category, the award was accepted on behalf of Glavbolgarstroy by Eng. Nikolay Karabadzhakov, director of construction sites and member of the Management Board of Glavbolgarstroy AD. The company won first place in the category with 54 551 sq. m. RZP with the completed buildings East Plaza Tower in Sofia and Administrative and Laboratory Center of Biovet in Razgrad.

Glavbolgarstroy was also awarded in the Grand category of the awards - Builder of the Year with 87 176 sq. m. and 7 completed and commissioned buildings, including East Plaza Tower, Dhome, Balkan Sports Hall, the new building of the University Hospital "St. Ekaterina", etc.

"This award is for the hundreds of employees at GBS who put their hard work, soul and experience into every project the company implements on a daily and minute to minute basis. This award is a sign that we are moving in the right direction, a symbol of the hard work that drives us forward," said Eng. Karabadzhakov, who accepted the award.

An analysis of the sector for 2024 was also presented during the conference, followed by a discussion outlining the state of the construction sector in the country, attended by seasoned industry professionals. Among the speakers was Radoslav Kotlarov, CEO of GBS Invest, who focused on innovation in the industry and green construction.
