The CEO of “Glavbolgarstroy” presented an “Academic Oscar” to the rector of University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy
17 rectors of Bulgarian universities were honored during the “Academic Oscars” ceremony, organized by the 24 Chasa newspaper for the ninth consecutive year. The universities were awarded based on the latest edition of the higher education rankings.
This year’s study highlighted several key points and trends, the most significant being that Bulgarian universities are leaders in the Balkans in attracting foreign students, with every 10th student in the country being an international one.
During the event, the CEO of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, Emil Angelov, presented the first prize to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Gichka Kutova-Kamenova, the rector of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy (UACEG). UACEG was recognized in the category of “Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy.”
“I congratulate UACEG on achieving first place. I have always believed that the successful professional realization of young specialists is the result of synergy between businesses and educational institutions. We believe that joint efforts will contribute to the smooth and successful integration of young people into the construction sector,” Angelov stated during the ceremony.
“One of our goals is precisely to strengthen ties with the business sector,” noted the UACEG rector upon receiving the award.
The event was also attended by Bulgarian EU Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva, the head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, Yordanka Chobanova, Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Corr. Member Evelina Slavcheva, the Chair of the Council of Rectors, Prof. Miglena Temelkova, as well as former education ministers.
