Nature of works
Construction of a new bridge across the Maritsa River on the Plodovitovo - Asenovgrad road. This infrastructure connects the town of Parvomai with the village of Gradina and facilitates a direct route from the 'Trakia' highway to the first-class road I-8 Plovdiv - Haskovo, as well as to the 'Capitan Andreevo' border checkpoint.
Technical characteristics
The new bridge facility accommodates two-way traffic and features a width of 11 meters along with a total length of 228.55 meters, including the abutments. The superstructure spans 210.85 meters, supported by six pillars across five spans with axial lengths of 35.5 meters, three spans of 40.95 meters each, and one span of 51.5 meters. This superstructure is a hybrid design, comprising a steel framework and a reinforced concrete roadway slab.
The steel framework consists of a girder system with two primary longitudinal beams and 56 cross beams. These main beams are compound double-T sections, spaced 7000 mm apart. The cross beams are made from NEV600 steel sections.
In the abutment area within Parvomai, six slotted piles were constructed, each with cross-sectional dimensions of 300 by 80 cm and a depth of 15 meters. Similarly, in the abutment area within Gradina and at pillars 1 through 4, cylindrical piles with a diameter of 1200 mm were used, varying in length between 20 and 25 meters.
