After “Glavbolgarstroy” put into operation Compressor Station “Ihtiman” in October, the one near the village of Lozenets was also started today.

The reconstruction is part of the total project worth more than BGN 200 million for the modernization of four compressor stations – “Strandja”, “Petrich”, “Lozenets” and “Ihtiman”, through the integration of low-emission gas turbo compressor aggregates. The modernized compressor stations “Strandzha” and “Petrich” will also be put into operation this year.
Compressor station “Lozenets” is included in the route of the transit pipeline through Bulgaria for Turkey, Greece and Macedonia. Reconstruction of the site includes an expansion of the available site and the installation of two new gas turbine compressor units adjacent to the existing equipment, which increases the combustion power. Two new compressor plants have been built. Modernization of the facilities is being carried out by “Glavbolgarstroy”, while the equipment is supplied by the US company Solar Turbines.
