Glavbolgarstroy participates in strategic energy dialogue in the United States

Kalin Peshov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Glavbolgarstroy, held an official meeting with Doug Burgum, U.S. Secretary of the Interior and Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council. The discussion took place as part of a strategic dialogue involving representatives from government, the technology sector, and leading American energy companies.

The meeting addressed key topics related to energy security, development, and technological innovation in the sector. Against the backdrop of global challenges, both parties expressed a shared commitment to deepening international cooperation and the exchange of best practices. The dialogue emphasized the significant contribution of the private sector in delivering key infrastructure projects and its role as a catalyst for technological advancement in the energy field.

In a bilateral conversation with Secretary Burgum, Peshov shared Glavbolgarstroy’s experience in developing strategic infrastructure aimed at facilitating alternative routes for liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation and enhancing regional energy connectivity. Since its establishment, the company has solidified its role in the sector through strategic partnerships and participation in large-scale projects focused on developing energy networks and ensuring supply security.

Kalin Peshov also presented the group’s commitment to the construction of Units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, in partnership with Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Westinghouse. Particular attention was given to the company’s involvement in the development of next-generation technologies, including the implementation of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) – a key component in the future of nuclear energy. Other topics discussed included the upcoming launch of major segments of the strategic “Vertical Gas Corridor” project, as well as completed gas infrastructure initiatives such as the Bulgaria–Serbia interconnector and others.

He also highlighted the large-scale modernization and construction of compressor stations and gas metering facilities undertaken by Glavbolgarstroy in cooperation with leading international technology partners across Bulgaria.

Doug Burgum serves as the 55th Secretary of the Interior of the United States and Chairman of the National Energy Leadership Council – the body responsible for strategic energy planning and national energy sovereignty. With a distinguished background in the private sector, including as the founder of software giant Great Plains and former Governor of North Dakota, Secretary Burgum is widely recognized for his contributions to innovation, administrative reform, and energy transformation.
