Honeywell and GBS Discussed Energy Infrastructure Cooperation

On July 7th, technology giant Honeywell and Glavbolgarstroy met to discuss future cooperation in large-scale energy infrastructure projects. The Bulgarian construction company hosted the working meeting with representatives of the American corporation, which they held at their headquarters in Sofia.

The Chairman of the Management Board of Glavbolgarstroy Holding Kalin Peshov and Marion Karbacher, President for Europe of Honeywell discussed partnership opportunities in the field of electricity storage solutions. The discussions involved a future strategic partnership within the framework of large-scale energy infrastructure projects in Bulgaria and Southeastern Europe.

The focus of the talks was on integrated battery and energy storage systems (BESS) as a key element for balancing the electricity grid, as well as the integration of renewable energy sources (RES). The discussion also included the implementation of automated processes in large-scale strategic energy projects, allowing for the acceleration and optimization of work. Emphasis was also placed on cybersecurity as an indispensable element of protecting further ensuring the stable functioning of modern energy infrastructure.

The two companies talked over their nearly 30-year partnership within the framework of various large-scale energy projects. This includes the successful integration of the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) technology system into Bulgarian energy infrastructure. SCADA enables real-time process supervision, as well as data analysis and better network coordination, optimizing operations and the implementation of a wider range of energy flows.
