The modernized compressor station Petrich was introduced in operation
“Bulgartransgaz” EAD put into operation the modernized compressor station Petrich.
The reconstruction performed by Glavbolgarstroy includes the installation of a new compressor and the construction of a connection with the I/O tracks, which will allow for full reverse operation and supply of natural gas from Greece, if necessary. The implementation of the facility ensures the reversal of the full capacity of 3 billion m3 per year of the gas pipeline to our southern neighboring country. The opening ceremony of Petrich compressor station was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Funds and Economic Policy Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Energy Temenezhka Petkova, US Ambassador to Bulgaria HE. “Glavbolgarstroy” completed the first stage of modernization of the national gas network with the commissioning of the fourth compressor station “Petrich”. The compressor stations “Strandzha”, “Ihtiman” and “Lozenets” were put into operation for a period of eight months. The financing of the modernization project for the four compressor stations amounts to BGN 220 million and is provided with own funds by “Bulgartransgaz” EAD.
