On August 19, 2011, in the presence of Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Ivailo Moscovski, Director General of BULATSA, Mr. Dian Dinev, and President of Glavbolgarstroy Holding, Mr. Simeon Peshov, a contract was signed on detailed design and construction of a new airport control tower at Sofia Airport between BULATSA and Glavbolgarstroy AD.

According to plans of the contractor, the new airport control tower will be ready in less than ten months, at the cost of BGN 14,813,030, VAT inclusive. The project is financed entirely with funds of BULATSA.
