At an official work meeting held in Vienna (Austria), representatives of Glavbolgarstroy and the Vienna Economic Forum signed a cooperation agreement, within the framework of which the international organization will establish its representation at the headquarters of Glavbolgarstroy in Sofia, Bulgaria. The office will be operational within a few calendar months, deepening the organization's activities in the country in relation to their general strategy for promoting regional economic cooperation.

"It is an honour and a responsibility to assist the strengthening of the Vienna Economic Forum’s presence in Bulgaria. We will work actively on a wide range of topics of national and regional importance, which aim to create a sustainable and competitive environment for implementation of regional projects and for encouraging foreign direct investments in the country", said Kalin Peshov, Chairman of the Management Board of Glavbolgarstroy. Eng. Peshov is also a member of the Board of the Vienna Economic Forum.

The partnership between the Bulgarian construction holding and the international organization is in line with the GBS committed endeavors to foster strong partnerships seeking to enhance Bulgaria's business landscape, boost foreign direct investments, and catalyze synergies between academia and industry. The company mobilise the latter with a view to create and enforce sustainable, innovative and green solutions having potential to prove their effectiveness and application in various sectors of the country's economy.

This is yet another step of GBS in this direction, after earlier this year the company opened a representative office in Vienna. Pavel Valodzka, representing Glavbolgarstroy in Austria, sees the presence of the construction holding in the commercial center of Europe as an opportunity to strengthen the position of GBS as a modern and innovative company, and as a possibility for the company to reach even higher business performance.

The Vienna Economic Forum is an international non-governmental organization established in 2004. It has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and since 2015 the forum has been included in the transparency register of the European Parliament and the European Commission. The organization seeks to stimulate and, based on research, to identify short-term, medium-term or long-term projects of common interest in the region and promote their implementation. The Forum has an established position as a European platform connecting the economic goals of the public and private sectors.
