Nature of works

The project involved the construction of the A1 Motor Park Racing Circuit for automobile and motorcycle competitions in compliance with the requirements and standards of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).

The scope of works included the construction of an approximately 4-km racing circuit, complete technical infrastructure, and three ancillary buildings, including all building services, fit-out works, and equipment installation.

Technical characteristics

A total of 170,000 m² of excavation works and 310,000 m² of embankments were executed to form the track profile, safety zones, and surrounding areas.

The construction incorporated:

  • 49,000 tonnes of asphalt mixtures;
  • 8,400 m² of concrete pavement in critical track sections;
  • 2,195 linear metres of kerbs installed along the circuit.

The project included the construction of the complete utility infrastructure:

  • 6,100 m of electrical duct network;
  • 7,300 m of sewerage network;
  • 1,940 m of water supply network;
  • 4,100 m of drainage system;
  • 2,511 m of linear drainage channels.

All safety systems were designed and installed in accordance with FIA and FIM regulations.

The following safety facilities were constructed:

  • 8,200 m of triple safety guardrails;
  • 3,300 m of tyre barriers;
  • 3,400 m of 3.5 m-high debris fencing;
  • 990 m of mobile debris barriers with double-sided protection systems;
  • 220 m of pit lane wall;
  • 2,800 m of spectator fencing;
  • 3,400 m of perimeter fencing.

These systems ensure the safety of drivers, riders, teams, officials, and spectators.

The circuit operational layout includes:

  • 27 marshal posts;
  • 16,900 m² of horizontal road markings.

Surface water management and control systems were implemented through the construction of dry retention ponds with a total area of 4,500 m².

In addition, 70,000 m² of landscaped green areas were developed throughout the complex.

The pit garages are designed as unified facilities for both automobile and motorcycle racing, with a total capacity of 10 race cars or 30 motorcycles.

Three dedicated buildings were constructed to support the operation of the complex:

Building A

A public-use facility comprising:

  • Retail shop;
  • Café;
  • Reception lobby;
  • Administrative offices;
  • Sanitary facilities;
  • Terrace with outdoor bar.

Building B

A multifunctional operational building including:

  • Pit garages;
  • Meeting rooms;
  • FIA President's Office;
  • Commentary room;
  • FIA offices;
  • Race control room;
  • Restaurant and terrace.

The upper level incorporates spectator grandstands overlooking the circuit.

Building C

A support facility comprising:

  • First aid and medical treatment rooms;
  • Doping control facilities;
  • Three additional pit garages;
  • Video surveillance and monitoring rooms.

A dedicated entrance checkpoint facility with an access control gate and architectural entrance arch was constructed at the main entrance to the complex.
